TRANS AMERICA
I left Vancouver Island in mid-June 2002. 'Day One' was a ride to Victoria and a short ferry trip to Port Angeles on
the Washington coast. From here the journey meanders through the
State taking scenic routes through the Cascade Range and on to Idaho,
Montana and Wyoming. I chose the most challenging mountain
roads through the Rockies where passes reach over 9000 ft. After
cycling through Yellowstone National Park the route headed over to
South Dakota - Mount Rushmore, crossing the Missouri River and on
to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and back into Canada. Here I joined my wife Marie and we cycled to Niagara Falls and across the Appalachian
Mountains to New York City, 4,450 miles (7,100 km).
ENGLAND & JAPAN
We visited the West Country in England - the original departure
point 32 years ago and Bradford on Avon, the home of Moulton Bicycles.
Whilst in England we visited family before departing for Japan.
In Nagoya i met some of the large contingent of Japanese
'Moultoneers' and saw the 'Moulton 'Marathon'.
